Baja Motorsports Wilderness Trail 250

Well as i mentioned in my Gio X33 thread i traded the bike off for two ATVs...this is one of them. I am not exactly sure what year it is yet as i wasn't able to get a look at the vin. As you can see in the pics its kinda chilling in the bush.

I did find out it has a winch on it and i was informed that it did run and was a recovery after some kids took it out joyriding by hotwiring it. So i will need to do some repair work to the harness and will most likely end up installing a universal key switch or see if i can order a stock replacement.

General plan for this one is to get it running for the fiancee and most likely fitting it with a carrying case on the rear rack for certain.

I'm not sure what the 250 was copied from, but the 400 Baja was a dead ringer for a Yamaha Bruin.

Looking forward to following your progress on this.

From what i have read so far the 250 seems to be a clone of the 250 Beartracker.

Cool! I found a link to a manual for it: http://www.thequadconnection.com/yam...manual-yfm250/

Nice! i will have to see if the Baja will take parts from the real Yamaha like how the Zongs accept parts from the Yamaha they are clones of.

I was able to compare a Bruin and a Baja 400 next to each other, and the only differences I found were the number of headlights, the colour and what I presume to be a low oil pressure switch. Everything else was identical. I presume that the 250 will be nearly identical to the Beartracker.

Which if this idea is correct...means i might be able to use Beartracker parts to service it like Spud uses TT parts on his zong

Did you make any progress with this quad? Still have it?

Still have it and it is still sitting in the very same spot. Life kinda took a HARD right on me for a bit while getting ready for the wedding last year and whatnot. Hopefully this summer i can dig the thing out and try to get it going.

I have a few spare parts, so let me know if you need anything.

Will do! i do know it will probably need a new wiring harness or at least the portion where it goes to the key.
