?? about a stator upgrade ???
:?: Does anyone know of an upgrade or a direct drop in for a higher power stator for the HI-BIRDS ? :?:

NO, but you could always pull it out and have it rewound by an alternator shop. How much more wattage are you looking for?
|
was actually looking to be able to achieve around 100 watts but would settle with a compfortable 60-70 watts.....just wishful thinking. :( P rolly wont happen. The closest place i have that could possibly rewind my stator is 160 miles away and i use the bike daily for my commute to work since someone decided they needed my truck more than i did  ...so thats why i was asking about maybe an upgrade that i could possibly purchase from a reputable source on the net. Thanks for your reply and idea. :D

I saw something about a stator from a honda ATC or possibly one for an XR.

LOL!!! now i get to show my ignorance....hmmm...kewl! :D The atc or the XR both in 250cc? I`m still trying to figure out if i have a OHC or pushrod engine! DOH! I never admitted that :( However i am hungry for any and all education on these bikes and any upgrades and mods that can be had. I love my Bird at the current level of performance ( except the lighting ) and await any responses from all. Would also like to say thanks to all that have posted to my many other questions and helped me with my dire lack of wisdom concerning these matters. P.S.... when speaking of the clone equivilent of these motors what would mine fall under? Honda. Yamaha? etc..etc.

Death85e,You have an ohc.Your not alone I am reading my azz off and learnig as well.

The honda atc and xr came in many varieties. There are 250cc variants.
HO stators are available for them so it may be a bolt on for a china bike. Allen |
http://home.comcast.net/~pgailunas/stator.html Make your own.
Or ready made for XRs. http://www.xrsonly.com/content/index...id=77&vmcchk=1 I don't know which one would fit, but if someone has an motor that is apart they may be able to help match one up. Allen |
