2 Hawks registered IL

Buddy and I went into the DMV yesterday and had no issue with registering our 2 hawks and then proceed to take them on a 30 mile drive around town

Is it me or are those bikes really low in the front ?Did you slide the forks down the triples when you assembled them ,or is that how you received them ?

Congratulations on negotiating the DMV obstacle course.

you can see they have to slide them down yet. sticking above the top tree about 3-4ln.

popeicus86 03-28-2016 07:55 PM

well guys you would be right that i haven't adjusted the trees at all would anyone have a recommendation on where they should be at. (might explain why we keep hitting the wheels on the fenders on bumps)

Ron B 03-28-2016 07:57 PM

all the way to the cap

popeicus86 03-28-2016 08:10 PM

thanks ron b this is my first time messing with a brand new bike so i wasn't aware they needed adjusted. also is there some way to keep them from slipping in the future those friction retainers just look like they are gonna let them slide eventually

All the way to the top is the general baseline ,but depending on your riding style and use you might like to drop it a little .

The bolts of the triple tree will hold the forks very well. You only need to torque them about 10-15 foot pounds. ;)

How much did you end up paying the DMV for both? I'm from Illinois and just want to be prepared for the raping. :grr:
