Getting back on 2 wheels
Hi all,
I've got a Qlink XF200 and Vstrom 1000 that have been sitting for years. Looking to get at least one back on the road this year... Probably the 200 since a buddy just got a Honda Trail. |
Welcome.

I think I remember the valves getting louder before I parked it. Both were loose so I adjusted them down to .08mm intake, .13mm exhaust since that is what I had feelers for and read that is close to what is recommended.
I'd complain about adjusting valves, but it is a walk in the park compared to multi-cyl and especially shim n bucket. The exhaust was only marginally more annoying next to the frame tube. Gosh don't even need to remove and reseal a big valve cover. I feel spoiled! https://i.imgur.com/e5nO62I.png |
In case this isn't already known. A rack for a Yamaha xt250 appears to be a direct bolt on to an xf200 and likely any bike that shared that same rear end/grab rail bolt locations. It is all just finger tight at the moment. Sofar I can tell the rack side mounts just need to flex inward a bit. And I'll need to trim the side panels on the bike to clear the forward mounts, not anticipating much else though.
