yerf dog project
Hey guys i have a yerf dog and i need to mount the engine but i dont know if the centrifugal clutch would move a 350 pound buggy around 25-30 miles
It doesnt have the origional engine it has a 7.5 hp briggs

I think it's really cool! With a centrifugal clutch, you basically have two gearing options: either 72/12 or 60/11. What size is your clutch sprocket?
The 72/12 ratio will take off a little faster, but the 60/11 will have a little faster top speed. |
I believe the size sprocket is a 10number tooth comet clutch and the main sproket is like 55 or 60 not sure, so do you think its good having that clutch instead of the regular band clutch
I don't know what you mean by band clutch. The clutch that you have is the most common style for mini bikes and karts. Stick with the gearing you have for now.
Im sorry lol the torque converters, i will, are these type of clutches durable?
They're durable enough, and cheap enough to replace when they fail. Torq-a-Verters (by Comet) are excellent, but costly.
Okay, im going to use it in pretty rough terrain thats why
The springs inside can be adjusted so that the clutch will engage at different RPMs. I would stick with what you have and see how it goes. The briggs engine should be enough power.
The comet belt setups are very costly. You can buy 10 of the centrifugal units for the cost of a comet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-SAGjUidZs |
That looks like a ton of fun if you have the places to use it. :D
