what do you use for a helmet lock?

Are there any helmet locks that use the same key blank as the RX3? I'd love to have a helmet lock on my bike...

That's extremely unlikely to be possible. I don't leave my helmet on the bike, have no need to in my normal usage. But have you looked for a standard helmet lock loop under the seat? Most bikes have one, but of course, your helmet must have D-rings and most modern helmets have gone to buckles.

Yeah, for me I'll go to a state park, shove my jacket and boots into a topcase, put on some trail runners, and go hiking. I need a way to secure my lid to the bike. My helmets are Torc, nothing too pricey. I just need to keep it from walking away as a crime of opportunity.

I used one like this on my X22R 250. It bolts up right behind the rear foot peg brackets. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q817R62...NsaWNrPXRydWU=

I installed a bigger top case on my ($60 from Amazon) and put my helmet and jacket in it....

BUT, my NC700X has a cable you loop thru the helmet D-Ring, and then the loop on the other end of the cable hooks on a hook under the rear seat...the same setup could be used on the RX3, since the rear seat is removed with the Key.....might try to fab that up....If I think of it when I get home, I'll take some pics of the set-up

helmet lock

At one time I had a helmet lock mounted on the license plate holder but it wasn't keyed to the bike. It was made by Kuryakyn for Harleys but I think it has been discontinued. It was a little inconvenient to use. That's why I bought the larger trunk.

On the RX3 I just purchased it fits in the top case great. On my other bikes I keep a cable style gun lock to loop through my helmet rings if I leave it with my bike. Works so far....

Here are some pics of the system on the Honda NC700X, since the RX3 uses the key to open the rear seat, the same could be done on it.

We have been having issues with the files automatically reducing file size. Reduce the file size to 97kb or smaller before uploading and they will post.

I guess I was lucky but I always just hung mine on the left side foot peg and even in sturgis and daytona it was always still there when I got back. I sometimes would even leave a hoody or LS shirt in it after it warmed up and I never lost anything not even out of my saddle bags.

I use a bicycle-type, long shackle padlock and lock the helmet, through the d-ring, to the engine guard. The shackle is rubber coated and hasn't scratched the paint yet. I've had my gloves stolen from inside the helmet but nobody has jacked the helmet yet.

I often wear an open face in the summer. So far, I keep having crap in the topcase. Or I want to put my jacket in the topcase and have the helmet elsewhere (I'm a big buy and my jacket doesn't fit in the left case with the quilted liner installed, much less along with the heated vest). I just snagged one of those behind-the-footpeg-bracket locks, modified the mounting holes with a dremel, and bolted it on. Since it's a different key, I'll stick it on a small carabiner clip inside my tank bag (or I suppose in one of my cases), and clip it to my RX3 keyring when I use the helmet lock.

I'd post a pic, but the site is broken.

Charles.
