Storm 250 seat height

Hi guys i really would like to buy a Bashan Storm 250 but Iam getting mixed info on the seat height? Most are saying there seat height is 29" while others are saying about 34" seat height? I see the same in the ads for this bike most 29" a few 34"? Are there two models running around? I would buy this bike today if i could buy one with a seat height of 34". On a side note do the owners of Storms think I could some how raise the height from 29" to 34"? The next best choice would be a TT250 but at over $1000 more and the same engine I dont see paying that much more for sooo little more bike. I could really use some help guys. Thanks. :hmm:

I dont know? I cant seem to get anyone to reply? Seems like it might be the wheel size I just cant get any info? Iam starting to get way turned off after getting ripped off, not being able to get any info to help me decide and sooooo many shady dealers ready to tell you anything but give you a run around instead of the bike you ordered. All I really want is a full size counterbalanced 250cc dual sport with front and rear disk brakes oh ya and a tack for under $2000. Is that to much to ask??? :hehe:

Could the height different be due to a combo of wheel height and a longer shock in the back? I could really use some help here guys. After saving for three years it looks like it will take another three years to find a bike that will work for me. That is if I ever get my money back from getting ripped? >:(

Merlin...my bike (see signature) is virtually the same bike as the bashan storm. By placing a level on the lowest part of my seat, tilting the bike to level position, and measuring from the floor to the bottom of that level, it measures exactly 33 inches. This measurement is with no weight on bike. With my boots, sitting on the bike, I am flat footed . I think I am 5.11 or 6.0. It is perfect and is high riding position as are all Duel Sport/Enduro’s An inch or two in either direction will make no difference.

Considering your bad luck and your concerns with the specifications, I suggest that you find a dealer with a stock item so that you will know exactly what you are buying.

Just my 2 Euros.

give me a few minutes and i will go check my bike, i just got home from a 12 hour shift ... i can tell you that at 5'9" i can not even get close to flat foot on the bike

BARLOW 07-02-2016 12:55 PM

i can tell you for sure it is well over 29" at the seat though ...EDIT: just went out and checked ... 34" for the seat and it has 17" and 19" wheels if you needed to know that as well

I would love to find a dealer but I would have to travel over a 1000 miles one way where ever I would go. To get to where I live you need to take a very long road from nowhere to nowhere. There is a dead end road that connects to the road to nowhere somewhere in the middle that has a dirt road that winds up to about 9000 feet on the side of the Rockys. I live on that road at about 9000 feet. In other words I live right smack in the middle of nowhere. The farthest place from anyplace I know of. Thanks for the input.

I was just going to ask the wheel size. I wonder if people who are checking seat height are not standing the bike upright? Thanks for the data.

Unless you plan on spending most of your time at or near 9000 feet, you may want to consider a fuel injected bike or at least a carburated bike with power to spare.

7000 to 9000 feet is where I will ride. If jetted right other then power loss for lack of air up here it will do ok. With power in mind Ive been looking at a SSR XF250 with a true 249cc engine but I cant find out if it is a counterbalance engine? If I buy the XF Ill have to finance it but it should give around 4 more HP.
Here is a link (not sure about the dealer?):

your elevation range isn't too great, you should be fine with a Storm or Hawk.
