On her Breeze, Getting better but the brakes suck on these things for kids, I am going to have to come up with something to make them easier for her to use befreo she kills me

That's awesome. Thanks for the ride.

Are the brakes cable or juice?

AZ200cc 05-06-2009 02:03 AM

You're welcome :D

Cable :? Double cables for the front brakes and single cable for the rear brake, Hard to pull and her hands can't reach....I'm stumped right now I might just sell this and get a smaller one.

SpudRider 05-06-2009 03:35 AM

Thank you for taking us along for the ride, AZ! I hope you get the brake issue resolved to your satisfaction. :)

It appears to me that the Yamaha Breeze does not have a rear brake pedal. Am I correct?

Spud :)

Maybe instead of selling and going smaller, could you fit the controls from a smaller quad? Then when she gets bigger you could swap back the controls.

AZ200cc 05-06-2009 11:44 AM

Thanks Spud :D

I thought about that cal, but I am not sure what ATV's came with the correct controls.....Not an ATV guy but I am going to have to learn

Let me see if I have any controls left from those two pit bikes I parted. Might have a lever and perch that is smaller.

i have some folding levers that adjust for pit bikes might work

AZ200cc 05-06-2009 03:49 PM

I'll snap some photos tonight, It's an odd set up at least for a dirtbike guy. The ball ends aer about 1/4 inch or bigger..And it has safety sitches on the one side and dual cables on the other.

Weldangrind 05-06-2009 08:48 PM

It's totally worth it to use a cable luber on all the cables (throttle included). I use mine with Maxima Chain Wax, and it makes all the difference for my daughter. Her brakes are the same setup that you describe.

Yah if any of ya have a lever that will function like these only smaller I am game Here are some pics, Not great quality my cam sucks at close ups.

Top view, Dime was for referance but you can't tell haha

Left lever has neutral switch that will not allow it into reverse with out the brake on

I can reach it is adult size, Her little hands don't stand a chance and yet they call it a "kids" Quad....Not sure about that lol

What's the weight limit on a Breeze?

Nice bike. Cool vid. More people need to ride with their kids.

BUG 05-07-2009 09:16 AM

Can you loosen the cables enough to put a stop in to keep the levers from returning to their original position and still have enough movement in the lever for the brakes to work?

AZ200cc 05-08-2009 02:18 AM

Thanks frosty, I can keep a good eye on her when I am right there..PLus I am skinny so it can take it

Any luck on those levers phil, I'd be curious what they look like...Maybe even some controls off a smaller atv.

I might mess with letting loose the setting bug, I'll let ya know if that works.
