Chain Question

I did a search but don’t completely understand the chain options. I would like to keep my current stock sprockets 17/46 but want to purchase a good quality chain for them. I don’t know what “520” or “428” means. Can someone recommend a good quality chain that wont break the bank for my stock sprockets? The chain that came with the bike stretches like a rubber band and I am concerned about its quality. Thanks.

A quick way to check is to measure pin to pin (pitch) A 428 chain is 1/2" and a 520 is 5/8".

This is the chain I'm using. Just cut to length. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F321318221273

Very well. I have about 2500 miles on it and never had to adjust it except for when I had replaced the rear tire.

JT Sprockets brand is your go to for budget Made In Japan chains and cogs. I'm running their heavy duty dirt bike chain $15 and have a couple different cogs from them as well. I put 5,000 miles on the Bashan stock chain and have 6,000 on the JT. About every 2-3 weeks the stock chain had to be re-tightened and the Japanese version I've adjust only 3 times just to be safe after binding it up whilst riding like a turkey.

I suggest when changing it’s better value to go 520
