Hi.

Just found this on my bike (3500mi), after a sudden loose of braking power at the rear wheel:

So, it´s time to go for a replacement hose.
Any suggestion to avoid this issue with the new hose?

Regards,

Juan Carlos.

No sharp turns or flexing.

I would upgrade to some kind of Steel Braided Brake Hose that is a few cm shorter to help take a few of those extra bends out of the original brake line routing

Maybe something like these will be a inexpensive replacement ?

Check the length and banjo bolt hole size to make sure the new lines will work

20.00 bucks at CSC. The shipping would probably kill ya though.

Rear brake hose replacement

Hi guys.
Thanks for the information provided :thanks:
Yesterday made a quick tour over the local motorcycle part stores: first one offered an original hose at USD35 w/10 days wait; second one another original hose at USD60 w/7 days wait; third one had none; fourth store: there found a generic hose 42" long (mine was 40") at USD22, OEM for Bajaj NS200 Rouser bike.
So re-routed the hose path in order to bring space for the 2 inches extra: perhaps there is an excessive bending at the pump end,:hmm:, I´ll see how it performs in time.

Also found a curious thing: the RX3 OEM hose has a very stiff internal white plastic pipe :wtf: (covered with a metallic braid and a thin external plastic jacket), instead of the rubber hose -more flexible- usually found at the hydraulic systems.

Juan Carlos, your hose looks to go much different than ours does. Is this another difference in the Corven Triax 250?

As jct842 said, run the hose as loose and straight as you can. Change the position of the front clamp? Leave the front clamp off?

Edit: You posted just before I did. That looks much better. The white hose is usually a high grade plastic (HDPE or Teflon) and the steel braid is there to keep it from expanding under pressure. It is very much like the 6000 psi/41000 kPa hoses that I work with on heavy equipment.
