I have a 2007 Viva 250cc ATV . Wanting to convert it to efi and turbo it, anyone ever done this? Found this kit http://www.ecotrons.com/Small_Engine...o_PNP_kit.html
And http://www.ecotrons.com/Small_Engine...bocharger.html. as a start then weld my own exhaust and intake piping. Any thoughts or input..Attachment 534

We have seen the FI and turbo setups, but no one that we know here has tried it. I see you have the liquid cooled version.

Yeah any issues with the liquid cooled engines? Looks like I'll start building a turbo efi viva in a few months after the holidays.

They don't tend be as reliable as the air cooled versions. I would make sure everything for the cooling is in good order before moving onto a turbo setup.

It would be a fun little monster. If you search CG250 on Taobao, you'll find plenty of replacement parts and gaskets; those will be handy items, once you start to squeeze it.

I wonder what the compression ratio is? Most turbo engines run a lower ratio.

AceOfHeartless 11-14-2013 10:13 AM

I figure at the very least I'll get a few good " what the hell" s. Outta it and have some fun. Thanks for the I do I'll update when I start the build. Thanks for the info

AceOfHeartless 11-14-2013 02:26 PM

Compression ratio is 11:1

katoranger 11-14-2013 03:13 PM

That is pretty high. Things may go boom quickly with the addition of a turbo.

I'll run high octane with a booster, worse case it'll blow and eat my legs right? Lol then ill have to figure out how to mount an electric hand shifter.

Wild_Alaskan 11-14-2013 07:14 PM

avgas may work good for this application

AceOfHeartless 11-14-2013 09:09 PM

Ecotrons says the efi system and turbo are suitable for it I'll send them a email to see what they say abt it

Weldangrind 11-15-2013 12:41 AM

I'd try to run corn fuel; it's close to 110 octane, and it's cheap. You'd need to change the o-rings, but that's easy.

AceOfHeartless 11-15-2013 10:21 AM

Got an email back from ecotron pretty quick:

Yes, our EFI kit and small turbo fit right onto this motor. No, you can use regular fuel. Different fuel, may need different tuning.

We will support you to tune the system.

Thx, matt

So after extensive research come to find out a turbo pushing enough boost to make any more than 5hp would melt the engine lol so no turbo but i will try the efi and now wondering what other things I could do to make this atv crazy..... Nitrous? Any way to bore it or cam it?
