Looking for lighting.

Hey guys, I'm looking to add a headlight to my TSM 200 as I like to ride at night . I know that dual sport lighting kits exist for 350 to 500$, but that's a bit steep for me, and I have no use for the turn signals or hi/low beam. I'm just looking for a headlight housing and light to go with it. I can fab the rest as I'm an engineer by trade.

liverchip, I have been seeing a new 250 more and more thru these threads. I am not sure who makes it, but it looks like your Shineray, but has a light kit. It does not look to be the most comfortable enduro, but these new bikes (it has only been the last 2 weeks I have seen people posting pictures) have 250 engines, and full lighting. I think that one of the dealers is on Ebay, who used to sell a bike known by the brand "Marshin" and is now Easy Ed, or something like that. I think that someone posted a photo yesterday or the day before, showing the same 250 model. but it was from a Canadian company. Either way, the bike looks very similar to your bike, and if you contact the importers, more than likely they will be worthless, but at least a start to you, so your best bet would be to email the rep in China where the bike is sourced.

Hi,

Seems to me that if you have no intention of going on road you can do anything. Let your imagination run wild.

Looking at your pics in the gallery I think I would use the screw in the middle of the number-plate and mount a piece of square aluminum tube then mount some micro fog/driving lights from Walmart or Pep Boys with a 3-way switch, off, one on, both on.

Whatever you decide post some pics.

Polygon, I didn't think of that. What is that method, KISS (Keep it simple, stupid) would apply right about here!

Thanks, I may be a redneck engineer but who are you calling stupid :D

Add a few quick disconnects and a wingnut or two (with lock washers of course) and you could take the whole thing off if you wanted.

As mentioned in my DS reply, it has a battery and charging system

ooops -- the delete of my post and your reply must have crossed in cyberspace.... and now it looks like you replied to nothing.... so for those interested just view the thread in DP forum.

As for the shadetree engineering method, As I have found 2 more or less stock looking add-on headlights and their prices, I'm headed more in the 'fabricated solution' Headed down to Harbor Freight right now to pick something up.
