Swamp Thing (4 years later)

Hey guys,
It's been a minute but just thought I throw out an update. Swamp Thing is still going strong and has even had a few more improvements. Found new plastic for the tank, no more duct tape, and it was even green. I ordered a new muffler on eBay last year and they sent me an entire exhaust system, brand new, still in the packaging. Someone must of wanted it off their shelf. Brake pads for the front brake continue to haunt me, found one that fits the fixed side but no luck on the piston side. My son has been enjoying it more, we have been working on it together and he even has started riding it (really slow lol). But here are a couple pics and maybe even a video of his first ride. Day we brought Swamp Thing home from the field Attachment 21040 Cleaning it up Attachment 21041 How he looks today Attachment 21042 Pretty new exhaust system Attachment 21044 That same kid that was cleaning the bike (don't know why it flipped that one?) The bike still looks good. Thanks for the update.

Thanks, it went from laying in a field to being babied. He washes and waxes it like a Harley haha.

Looks great GT! I'm shocked you had trouble finding pads. Back in the day it was "one piston or two...."
Great to see the old gal is still serving you well! The old GY2's and 5's are now becoming like old Harley's. They didn't do a ton well compared to the new stuff but they ran forever and always got you home. |
I remember Swamp Thing and you just reminded me of yet another 'nostalgic' brand--Kazuma! Thanks for the update  I hope to one day fix up my old TMEC...

Here is a shot from the good side with that pretty new exhaust. No rust, has all the shiny bits and it seals real nice, got rid of the exhaust leaks. :yay:
