Hawk 250 starting issues

Hey everyone, new hawk 250 owner. Put it together and installed new nibbi carb and been riding fine but I been running to issues with starting it. After a cold start it can take about 10 minutes to get her to turn on with a lot of cranking and holding the throttle for quite a bit. I adjusted the carbs many times, I have a 110 main and 40 pilot in. I’m in NY, any recommendations on jetting or what it could be? I’ve drained the battery once trying to start it since it struggles to stay on even after a cold start. I can step away for 1 hour and when I try to turn it back lt on it’s a whole process

Pilot jet is too big and the idle mixture is likely too rich.also, if you haven't done so, adjust the valve lash or you will have nothing but issues.

I'm with Megadan on this one. I would start with adjusting the valves first before continuing trying to tune it. If you installed a PE30 on a stock Hawk engine you will have a hard time tuning. A PE28fl would be a better carb for a stock engine.
