I have the EJK on my Honda and it is simple yet very effective way to dial the EFI in. The honda had a lean stumble off idle and the EJK fixed it. I also did a Stage 1 on my honda and was able to enrich my fuel over the entire throttle. Great product that does away with all the programming hassles.

I assume we are planning to stick with the RX3 stock muffler, and not make any air box modifications. I'll know more about our options after the RX3 motorcycles arrive. ;)

The CRF250L has recommended settings for stock, Stage1 and big bore. I think setting it up as stock will be the baseline. The CRF EJK only allows you to add fuel. I noticed that the EJK for Delphi equipped HD's allows for adding as well as subtracting fuel. More than likely I'll probably open up the airbox and knock the cat out if it has one.

The foam air filter is rectangular, as shown in the following links.

I seems you unscrew four bolts, and slide a rectangular, air filter assembly out of the air box. After cleaning the foam air filter, you install the foam into the rectangular holder, and slide the air filter assembly back into the air box. Then you screw in the four bolts.

Air enters the rectangular opening above the air filter holder. I assume we can trim some of the top from the rectangular opening. We could also install some wire mesh to cover the hole on top of the air box.

I can see where the AFR+ controller would greatly facilitate fine tuning the final adjustments, since it includes an AFR meter. ;) If using the EJK controller, I can also see where it would be best to first optimize the stock setup. After the stock setup was optimized, one could then alter the air box, and play with the settings until it was optimized. Finally, one could remove the catalytic converter, if present, and optimize the final settings.

Stoichiometric ratio depends on the fuel. Pure gasoline is 14.7:1. However most fuel in the pumps these days is E10 which is stoichiometric at 14.1:1. Pure ethanol is 9.0:1.

So again being able to alter the maps would be very nice.

OK. Lets see where to start- I came over here from AVRider's minimalist touring thread. And-- its all SpudRiders fault. Not only that I don't even WANT a Honda Tornado any longer..... its like this-

I am in Piura Peru, northern part of the country. I ve been in South America since June 2012 backpacking. US citizen, 63 years old, still surf a bit, climb a bit. Now- when I came down here one of the things to do was to go to Patagonia. I still may. A week more or less ago I came across from Ecuador when my visa time there was up. Waked by the Honda shop they had a Tornado, I talked to them about it. Walked by the Zongshen shop and they had a ZS 200GY10 that I though looked pretty awesome. I think I recall the price was around 5000 soles which is around $1700 and damn what a lot of bike for that price. A new 2014 Tornado here is 15,400 soles- $5200.

Just finished reading this thread start to finish and-- tomorrow I go back the 2 blocks to the Zongshen store and ask "where is the Z3".....Dont think I want a Tornado any longer.....dont know what the price here in $$ will be but hopefully will know more this time tomorrow. Thanks to all of the great people here on the thread. This might be the first Z3 to Patagonia....

Spudrider and Weldangrind thanks very much for the kind welcome. Great to be here ! I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread, have read it all and particularly the technical information in here. Thanks to everyone for that.

I am pretty sure it was 5000 soles for the GY10- in any case I will know more tomorrow. Looking at the specs that bike does not have much of a fuel tank but it is built like a tractor! I like the dual disc brakes as well.

Spudrider you posted some beautiful pictures of Idaho keep that up I may come back up there. Never been to your state and had no idea it was that pretty.

Looks like I may be joining the Zongshen army as well.... wonder if we get a brown beret with a red star on it....

Weldangrind- I used to live in Mexico until it got too dangerous. Came back to the US in late 2009. Everyone I knew there close to my age sat around and watched teevee all day. I couldn't do that so decided to come back out, down here with the backpack and nothing else. I don't want to stop what I like just because of a number- my age. So I said to hell with it. Been a good trip so far but I do get homesick at times. The country here is beautiful- camped this past Christmas on Mount Pinchincha right outside of Quito at 13,400 altitude. Christmas morning was beautiful, you could see Cotopaxi volcano 30 miles away at dawn....mountains are beautiful, jungle is beautiful as well. Beach isn't bad either just cold water.

Going to be curious how much is charged here for the ZX3. I ve already written Zongshen- I assume they are in Lima- that I am interested so we will see what they say. A hell of a lot of people use these machines- this brand- particularly the 3 wheeled taxis and carts. There are a lot of them around.

Should know more tomorrow-
