Hi Guy's

My name is J.R., I'm a 35 year old Quality Engineer from Michigan.

I've always enjoyed riding, but casually, it's not my life or anything lol. The prices on new bikes had me looking at building a buggy or something. We have lots of trails here in Michigan, but riding them isn't worth 15,000 to me lol.

I came a crossed the Lifan bikes from a buggy forum, where someone mentioned using the engine in a buggy. I dismissed them shortly when i couldn't find any info, then circled back around today.

Doing some research, I found Motocheese's vids on Youtube, and that pretty much sealed the deal for me, more research brought me here, and I'm hopinh to be able to purchase a Hawk in about a month.

Welcome! I have noticed the buggies on several of the sites that sell hawks and other chinese equipment. I've wondered how well those little motors would carry that much weight around. I'd say the hawk 229 is about as low on power as I'd like to go. really great for touring around dirt and gravel, but cant see it being much fun pushing around twice the weight. I like the ones that have the 800cc and up motors. :)

I have a Go Kart with suspension, an "Offroad" kart, even though it will beat you half to death. It has a 212cc, 6.5 hp motor on it, and runs 35mph or so. It's pretty boring really, for an adult.

There comes a point where it just makes more sense to build one with a street bike motor, you can get wrecked 600-750's for 600-800 pretty easily. I was just really hung up on wanting reverse for in the woods. Of course, with a bike, reverse is simple lol.
