Looks like CSC is going to do a cafe style bike

Call it a brat, street tracker, cafe style, whatever. Looks like they are taking a page from Cleveland Cyclewerks 'ACE' and doing something similar.

Should be very fun to see how it all turns out. I saw a comment on Facebook about it being in the $2400 range; no idea if that's official or not.

I love this style of bike.

I really like the blue and white color combo

It was a new post of sorts. They updated their blog 2 days ago with the article in question. http://californiascooterco.com/blog/?p=26607

That blue looks SWEET!

The bike comes with the same engine as the TT250 so I would expect the price to be very similar to the price of the TT250. I also expect CSC will have a reduced introductory price like they did with RX3, TT250 & RC250.

Anyone here going to pick one up when they arrive?

The pic shows a CB engine rather than a CG.

Looks great, but I wish the would use the faster water cooled engine.

Biker_Andy 08-26-2017 02:28 PM

The bike is too small to fit the RX3 engine. It was barely able to fit the TT250 CG engine. The bike is normally spec'd with a 125cc engine as seen in the reference picture. The picture is intended to show off the available colour options and not a representation of the CSC spec. CSC has spec'd it with higher end switch gear, high output stator, A1/A2 accessory outlets & bigger engine.

WOW. Now that's a cool little city bike runabout! My GF is just getting into riding.
HHHmmmmmmmmmmmm. :-D

I believe if you check the CSC Blog in the June and July postings, you'll find that the CSC Dude stated that the original ZG Cafe Racer was designed and built with a 150cc engine. And in the video he states that the engine is a Honda CC clone of 229cc in the display bike.

Other Color Combination Choices

I like the looks of the CR in the white color with the orangeish lower tank.
Except I think it would look much better if the orange was replaced with bright blue, or fire engine red or non-metallic Kawasaki green! :)
Or what about doing the blue bike in Kawi green or bright red and retain the white trim?
Just my thoughts! :hi:

It's really a shame that they speced it with a rear drum brake. And those mirrors are hideous.

Other Facts About The 250 Cafe Racer

If your height is greater than 5' 8" you'll want to purchase the CR250 with a tall seat! It should be an automatic accessory with the purchase and not an after market, additional cost upgrade! Let CSC keep the stock oem seat.
Also the stock oem seat is "VERY" uncomfortable. :ohno: It feels like vinyl with a very thin layer of cotton over a wooden plank! Not a long distance seat.
So hopefully CSC will offer the CR250 with the buyers choice, at NO extra fee, of seat heights, (Low, standard, or tall)!
And since the CR250 uses the TT250 engine and tranny, but has down graded suspension, brakes, mirrors, seat, and instruments as compared to the TT250, It should be priced lower than the TT250. :yay:
This is all based on my visit to CSC's Store in Azusa where I sat on and played with the CR250.

Actually, based on the videos I've seen, it looks to me like the CR250 has better instruments than the TT250.
