Retro New And Like Design
 

Anyone know the rules of vintage racing ?. The rule books I have been reading say... And Like Design. I sent email to the AMA and AHRMA about retro new with no reply.

This bike is being sold new in crate on craigslist for $899.00 and looks like it would make the rules, like no disk brakes, old style swing arm and dual shocks. Styling near the Honda XL

Start racing for less the a $1000.00 :yay:

Doesn't get much more vintage than that.

All I know offhand is that two shock rear suspension is required.

$900 and street legal? If it passes DMV that would be a steal.

200cc I assume?

FWIW I know that the 'modern' Royal Enfields are eligible for vintage road racing.

I also know a 'modern' RE can be entered in a bike show as a vintage bike.

Not sure how that all works.

I'm not familiar with the rules. However, if I wanted to race AHRMA, I would look for a vintage race bike like a RM or YZ. The guy that owns my local scooter dealer has tried to talk me into racing some AHRMA.

I race vintage enduro when the events are close enough... (So not that often...)

MX.... over here they have classes for all bikes pre 84?.... quite often the classes are
run togeather if theres not enough numbers for one class or another..
but they are pretty layed back about it.... if yer have a old bike they will find
a class for yer ride in... Or make one up for the day...

That's a neat bike. Excellent shape too.

It's near mint... spent most of it's life "30 years" sitting in the back of a shed..
only had 386 miles on it when i got it....
in that pic those tyres are the Pirelli Pentacross's put on at the factory in 79...

I tend to ride it like a real nana... don't want to wreck it...
That 70s type all or nothing power.... after the moden bikes it's quite
hard to ride on hilly single track stuff.... we are some what spolit these days...
the pic dosn't really show just how small it is... only weighs 85kgs...

I would guess classic dirts are rare in such good condition simply because of what they were. Excellent, keep up the great condition!!!

No link, had phone number and he finally got back with me. He got nine of them at auction in Detroit and sold all within hours after post to one person for $725 each. Lost out on that one :cry: Also they only had 125cc engines from Jialing is what he said.

I did get a reply from AHRMA They said at first look it should fit in the Grand Prix Class and I should fill out a Request for Eligibility form with better pictures so I can have a certificate of eligibility to present at the race tracks.

I can find the bikes in China and the minimum buy is a container full. So then what to do with the extras :hmm: Sure would be a whole lot of extra bikes for backup/parts.

Other then the front disk brake this bike has that retro style, but only sold in China.

Different price range and it depends on the racing you want to do but the Royal Enfield is a 'modern' bike sanctioned for vintage racing.
