China hit by failing economy

I'm not sure if this means cheaper bikes, but we can hope it will. |
The ban on motorcycles in their big cities may make them scramble to find new markets. :?

8O In China, cheaper bikes = poorer quality. Ain't these already enough of a handful? Just my .02

Might mean they flood the market here and up north and we might get them even cheaper.........Hmmm I just wish we could get the GY6 in The USA
|
You could import one from here maybe? But it has the same motor so I don't think it's worth the effort...
You actually can't get them from Coast to Coast anymore so you would have to get a re badged one I think from X-Rage... X-rage has the unbalanced engine again though... And a different swing-arm... It sort of looks like the Saga, though I think X-Rage does import from Lifan... Here is an X-Rage GY6 (they also have a 250, not sure if it is 229 or 249) http://www.x-rage.ca/images/bikes/Lifan200_2.jpg http://www.x-rage.ca/images/bikes/Lifan250-6.jpg |
I thought the GY-6 sat higher also....Maybe wrong. I got lucky though and found a 2002 dr200se for 1200 bucks. I'll pick it up in february when I get my taxes a friend of mine is holding it for me......So in a round about way I guess I'll still be a china rider :?

I think it may be a bit taller... It was too tall for me. Congrats on the new ride.

Chinese DP bikes are lookin better and better! :D

I've recieved several emails from suppliers in China that have lowered their prices due to economic difficulties here in the US and China both.
Some prices have dropped as much as 50%...but many suppliers have now raised the minimum quantities on orders. The motorcycle market is fixing to expand to much larger displacement motorcycles coming from China. From what I've been told China manufacturers plan on atacking the Japanese Big 4 during the next few years. While there has been a American Infatuation recently with our small displacement bikes as (if) the economy rebounds we'll be back to the bigger is better mentality very soon. Look for much larger China Bikes by 2010. |
