2015 used rx3 for sale by me

Alright guys there is a guy trying to sell a used 2015 rx3 with 750 miles on it he is asking $3500obo US. I know the 2015 rx3 went for $3495 new so being that not alot of these bikes have been for sale used yet what do you think is a fair used price? I was thinking $2800 -$3000 range ?

Not that it really matters since he's selling, but the original owner's purchase price might be higher depending upon options ordered, and for shipping the bike.

That not withstanding, I think you're in the right range for an offer price. If it is relatively stock (no accessories) and it's much above $3K, I'd recommend you look into a new RX3 as the shipping is now included at the $3,895 price, and you can have a bike with the upgraded forks (adjustable), bar end weights, and paint scheme, not to mention a brand new 2016 model vs. one that's been ridden (albeit 750 miles.)

Good luck with the negotiation!

I'd say $3500 cash is a good deal if it's got accessories. Tax and Shipping no longer play into the bike's over all price. Plus, break-in miles are pretty much over, and you can just ride it. If it's stock, I'd throw $3k at him and see what he says.

The only downside, is the lack of transferrable warranty. CSC will warrant some stuff, up to a year, but not as if you were the original purchaser.

Do not acknowledge accessories - tell seller that you're interested in the bike and not necessarily the accessories - which rarely fetch a commensurate price to the bike. $2.8K-$3K is probably in the range you should expect to pay depending on the condition of the machine.

Here's one for sale in Colorado for $3,900. Looks like it's got lots of extras.

Hmm. Same advert listed in Austin, TX. . .

One in Hudson, NY. Overpriced in my opinion:

I saw the ad on facebook. It's pretty stock. I would offer $2800 and settle on $3000 or so. You'll save shipping, but any more than that and I would just buy new and get the 2016 goodies and full 2-year warranty.

Also, you should call CSC and ask them if the warranty is good for second owners. If so, you probably only have the 1 year of parts warranty left, plus their excellent phone support.

Just make sure you know when it was purchased. I bought a used one as well and it only had 265 miles on it. The 2nd owner only gets a 1 year warranty and it is parts only. The warranty starts the day the original owner bought it. So I would say you will be getting a 4 - 6 month warranty at best.

Offer 2000, counter $xxxx, meet in the middle price $2750 but warranty is the big question.

Today's blog entry from CSC says they have two used ones for sale. Might be worth inquiring about.

Yes, but the fading paint is easily fixed. ;) I did a custom paint job on my RX3, including fuel and weather resistant clear coat, for less than $50. :) Here is my original RX3, in 2015, fast-fading orange.

Here is my 2015 RX3 repainted in Patriotic Blue. :)

Wow, that's probably the most dramatic photo I've seen of the orange fading. But for the 2016 owners, their bikes will fare much better since UV resistant paint has been specified.

As for my orange bike... if it ever fades to mustard, I'll probably just have all the bits repainted in Lamborghini metallic orange. At the pace I'm riding (and the bike seeing sun), I suspect it'll be a long while before that happens, but just saying...

Spud, have you done a write up on this process? I was thinking about repainting mine. I was more in love with the idea of orange but the mustard just isn't doing it for me. I was thinking maybe gunmetal grey.
