Defectve oil cooler from Bangood.....

Just an FYI but i finally got my oil cooler from the manufacturer yesterday as i couldn't make the heat exchanger from Bangood fit anywhere properly. Anyways i had already installed the valve cover from Bangood a month ago and just looped the hose. Instead of taking it back off since they both where the same i left the Bangood one on the motor and just installed the heat exchanger. Took the bike for a 10 mile ride and the heat exchanger was not even warm to the touch. Ended up tearing the bike down again and pulling the valve cover. I blew in the round hole and air came out both sides and the squirt holes! Checked the sample from my potential supplier and sure enough, air only came out of ONE SIDE. The one from Bangood was drilled too far and ended up breaching the return oil artery. Put the sample from my supplier on and within a minute the heat exchanger was HOT!

1st pic is the proper routing, 2nd is the defective one......

Although the defective casting would not allow the same level of cooling, there may actually be a benefit to the design. If there were to ever be a clog in the cooler that prevented flow, the defective casting would still route oil in the conventional path. Also, I can see the defective casting doing a better job of feeding the oil squirter in the bottom of the pic.

These are only theories; I really have no idea.
