Hawk 250 (Will this part work)?
I'm sorry that my posts tend to be a little all over the place. My asbergers makes me very very good at mechanical things but absolute crap at using technology.
I literally just need to know if this will work well enough for now for my 2021 Hawk 250. I have no idea how to look for parts but I'm trying. I appreciate y'alls patience with me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/22538814079...Cclp%3A2047675 |

You are right Bill, it is a stock replacement. Same displacement.
Brook, look for a bigger bore (higher than 67mm). You may find "300cc" kits that are actually not really 300, but might be more than stock. These kits can give you more displacement if they are bigger bore. Your stroke is 65mm. Here is a displacement calculator to check actual cc depending on the bore: https://spicerparts.com/calculators/...ent-calculator |
That is a stock bore (67mm) cylinder. Yes, it will work.
IF you are looking for a big bore cylinder, it will be called a 300cc cylinder. 70mm bore. Two CRUCIAL things to look for if you do want one: 1 - the base of the cylinder sleeve that sticks out of the bottom NEEDS to be 73mm O.D.. Most are 75mm. If you get a 75mm unit it has to be machined down to fit in the 250cc engine case. 2 - The wrist pin for the piston NEEDS to be 16mm. There are 18mm 300cc pistons out there as well. Those will not work. |
I appreciate you guys. Y'all rock!
I'm not looking for a big bore... yet. At the moment I am just trying to get my seized engine up and running. Not having transportation sucks. I'll go bigger at some point in the very near future maybe, or potentially just get a new bike. I have some side projects going on as well. |
