Just got my Hawk 250!
Hello everyone. I just got my red Hawk 250, and put it together. I was expecting it to need re-jeted from all the videos and other sources. I put gas in it, choked it and it started right up. It had a little trouble until it got warmed up a bit(after the smoke from the oil on the exhaust pipe cleared)it ran great. I just had to adjust the idle and it was fine. Would it be worth a try to go up one size in jet to get better performance?
After riding it around a little bit(about 6 miles on the odometer) I hit a stick that was concealed under the leaves. I layed it down at about 10 mph smashed my hand into the ground and now the front brake won't hold pressure. You can pump it up and it will work, but it bleeds off while you hold it. Has anyone put a set of "bark busters" or handlebar protectors on their bikes? |

Congrats on the new Hawk. I only had 9 miles on mine when I dropped it. I also broke my front brake lever. Go bake and check out the thread from the other day I posted. JerryHawk recommended a set of levers and another fellow recommended a set of hand guards I put them both on and they work great!!! I’m so sorry I’m not sure how to post threads and URL stuff yet.
I think the thread was Help with front brake lever! That have all the stuff right there to click on it and buy.Attachment 19179 Duckman out. Good Luck |

Thanks! I'll get some of those. They look great on yours.

Are you going to post some pics? We all love to see the pics.

Could be worse. I dropped mine at under 10mph and the shift lever cracked the case cover. Luckily I noticed the leak before I rode any further. JB Weld to the rescue. I have put about 600 miles on it since the repair and the JB is still holding up. Really need to find some case guards that will fit or maybe get a Motocheez key fob (That will protect the case covers, )right?

Grata on the new hawk, can't say anything agianst ya for breaking shit. 1st ride on my haak. Broke the foot peg off the rear brake laver. 2nd ride on my tbr. Ditched it, broke a hand guard.
Ride safe, have fun. |
Well, at least I'm not the only one that has layed it down right out of the gate. At least I got the first scratches and damage out of the way and I don't have to worry about scratching a pristine new bike lol.
I did a video on unloading it and putting it together and the first ride. Here is a link to it>>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDho...ature=youtu.be Not sure how to post pictures on here. |
Ok, I had to stop the video and post this! Did you build that crazy truck bed? That is the coolest darn thing ever. Open the side of your truck bed like that. Sorry just had to ask that.
