Tmec gear shifter
hey everyone, gonna need a small favor. recently had my first slide and unfortunately laid the bike down at a slow to moderate speed. it held up very well with minimal scratches and no broken parts, the only issue is a bent gear shifter. it was curved back about 90 degrees.
Now i bent it back into an almost straight line and it works good enough, but i have to do a great deal of reaching to get my foot under it. Can anyone post a picture of what one looks like stock so i have an idea of what to bend it back to? Or even better, possibly recommend a decent after market one for replacement. The ones on amazon seem decent, especially for the price, i just want some recommendations before i start piecing things together. thanks a ton in advance. |
I'd just buy a new spring-loaded shifter, something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Shift-...7eebfe&vxp=mtr

Hey Man! I am glad to see that you are ok, where were you when you dropped it? I actually saw the bike yesterday at the Handy Pantry on Portion Rd. when I was on my way to the mall last night. I was so happy to see it out and about.

Mine, too, was bent in an accident back in October, and I simply bent mine back to where I think it should be :) . However, I simply had to adjust my foot and get used to the new placement. Excalibur has them if worse comes to worse...

thanks for the recommendations, probably going to find one off the web, as for now ive got good ol' duct tape and zipties holding it together and making it ride-able. And for the crash, i was in oakdale heading towards my job and hit a patch of sand in just the right (worst) way, and i slid out. im guessing some landscapers were there recently because i havent seen that type of hazard in that area. Lesson learned on being observant all the time though.
As for being out and about, ive happily put a few hundred miles on the bike since obtaining it and have enjoyed every bit. |
