Question about Zongshen CB250 variants

Howdy,
I promise I tried using the search function, but it doesn't seem to agree with my phone. I'm sorry for cluttering. I posted in the street section because it seemed like a good idea at the time. So the Good Idea Fairy visited me a few weeks ago and I decided I was gonna swap the engine on my SG250 just for gigglepoops. So I ordered a 6 speed counterbalanced Templar X 250 motor... I also learned that there are multiple versions of the Zongshen CB250 engine. This one is apparently a CB250F, wherein the head and valve/cam cover are one piece. So... I am looking for some guidance on: A) besides the head and camshaft, what differentiates the "F" version? Will a split head/valve cover work on this motor? 2) are any camshafts compatible? Performance options? How the heck do I remove it? III) are there any idiosyncrasies with this motor I should know about? My piss-poor prior planning is preventing proper performance, so I'm attempting to rectify that now. In the good news department, 3 of the 4 motor mounts on the SG250 frame and the front sprocket lined up flawlessly, so that's nice. |
