Hawk replacement stator

As always, I try to find the info in the current threads that exist, but darn if I can find anything, anyway...

We have a 2021 Hawk 250 that needs a replacement stator (the excitor is shot).

The Hawks (we have four of them) are all stock.

Are there recommendations on a place to purchase from/stator to get?

I really appreciate the help in this!

Thanks!

Thomas

Aliexpress?

Carbed bikes use the generic 88mm 8 pole AC ignition stator. Efi bikes I can provide.bo assistance with.

engine, or bike model name

I did a google search for Hawk stator and they all look similar (about $40).

Do you know the engine model number (is it a ZS167?). That engine model number can help.

In the absence of a parts lookup reference like a Honda might have, you may have to take a gamble on one that looks like the part (fitment), and is supposed to be for a Hawk, (or the engine).

I found some on ebay and Amazon that all look similar. Like this one from scooteratvparts called "Stator Magneto For HaoSen RPS 250cc Hawk Dirt Bike" on ebay. There are MANY listings for Hawk stators, and many of them look similar if not identical.

Orion Powersports has one for $130 that probably fits too.

AliExpress has 'em for under $10, and I am sure some of them are worth every penny ;)

The stator that come out of my 250cc dirt bike generic loom has been good so far...compared to the ZS unit that came out of my CG250 engine I can't see any screaming visual faults compared to each other at the time.

I'd be inclined to say $10 is worth the risk...or just by 4x or 13x and have the spares if you feel the other established brands are probably just buying the $10 units themselves and profit taking a markup.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone. Sorry I haven't responded, need to check my settings, wasn't getting any emails!

I really appreciate the input - I don't know the engine model number, but they are carbed bikes - will go the 8 pole route.

Thanks again!

Engine model number is stamped into the crankcase under left side of the engine on many of them. Zongshen engines have ZS at the beginning... Like ZS167

Easy to find, and useful to know. It is usually visible behind the gear shift.
