80 degree ride
I know some of you guys up north are snowed in or whatever, but down here in South Mississippi today it got up to 80 degrees. I thought I'd grab the camera and take it along for the ride. Enjoy!
Here's a picture of the bike before I left http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0610.jpg Entrance to the powerline that I ride on http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0611.jpg This is my favorite pic. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0613.jpg I am not real sure what was goin on here. But I just rode all around 'em http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0615.jpg Little bit of sand here. I got some video to go with this part http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0612.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ffq3l0IWvno Here are some nasty ruts that I exploded through several times. It was awesome. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0618.jpg Aftermath goin on here! Gotta luv it  http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0619.jpg Yes, I was burnin it up. Chain popped off. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0617.jpg Another bike pic at the top of the powerline http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_0616.jpg I hope that some of you guys that dont get to ride right now enjoy these photos and little bit of video |
Looks awsome brother, was close to 80 here today but I spent it doing maintenance, got too late to go riding, supposed to be warm again tomorrow and I'm gonna get some riding in...Hell I just realized I have no gigs, the kids have a birthday sleep over and the weather is supposed to be nice all weekend, I'm gonna do ALOT of riding!!! YEE-HAW!!!!!

Thanks for sharing the pics!
I am glad some of you can be out riding right now. I can ride vicariously through your journeys! |
I also went riding, shot a fee photos which I will post up later on today.
I am with you riding the power line trails....although here in NC the trail only last a mile or so before you hit a fence, private land, or something else that makes you turn around! |
look slike a good ride. where's the video? did i miss it?
can't wait till i get a new front rim for mine. |

haha, i missed it. looks pretty sweet. i see you have the same camera holder as i do  .
next time you go through that patch of sand try standing up and when you feel the bike start to get squirlly hit the gas real quick and let off. it seems to work really well for me. i'm getting to where i can ride at about 30 mph through sugar sand at times. |
Thanks for the advice, I'm workin on my skills! Slowly, but surely

I know that us "dry" staters with warmer weather seem like we rub it in yuor faces, but you guys will appreciate the weather when it becomes rideable again.
With these cheap quads, however, I am surprised that more of you aren't out there in the winter riding away. Snowmobiles, too, but those aren't cheap. I mean, a cheap 150 or 200 sport quads would be fun to keep the riding grin on your face, or at least the cold will freeze it to your face... |
My neighbors 2 wheel drive quad didn't go as well in 10" of snow as I thought it would -- my bike rode better, but then again his tires are pretty warn.
Actually on just plain snow I bet it would be fine, but having that inch or so of ice on top of the snow just made it hard to break through. Now it's all melting and I just have muddy slop if I try to ride... fun now, but makes for a miserable spring when I have to look at the yard all torn up. |
