Not too bad. Runs well, clear title. Needs petcock, needle valve in the carb sticks, may be cleanable or may need replacement, and for seals. Needs tank cleaned and fuel cap gasket and a battery. Needs street legal stuff like head and taillight, horn, speedo. :?

I plan to get a collector vehicle plate for it. :D

It looks like I can find the bits to get the lights etc going on CL for less than $100 all together. :P

OK enablers, now is the time to start telling me I didn't waste my time and money! :wink:

I just rode it a bit. Rund really well! Needs a front tire. My buddy Andy will probably give me a decent used one for free. Maybe I'll replace the tube with one I have on hand.

There's no oil in the forks, therefor no damping either. I'll replace the seals and maybe install some PVC preload spacers.

The headlights are all over eBay in the $20 range, new.

It has regular sized tires, 18/21 inches! The brakes are strong. May need a chain.

It makes The Dirt Rat look like a powerhouse beauty queen but it will make a good trainer/buddybike. :P

I know that new seals are easy and cheap, but I've had really good luck with a Seal Mate. It was only $5.00 at Gnarly Parts, and it's worked on every fork I've tried it on so far.

Also, I use Castrol 10W or 20W non-detergent oil from the local auto parts store. It's much cheaper than fork oil, and it doesn't foam.

Please show us an eBay link with the headlight you're referring to.

+1 on the SealMate, I used one on my KLR and it cleared up a weepy seal... Heck of a lot easier than disassembling the forks to replace the seals!

I'm sure these seals can't be saved. They are dry and shrunken. I've done so many fork seals it's no big deal. Unless I screw something up (it happens) I'll be done in an hour. I also use 10W car oil, or ATF.

Does anyone have a link to a service manual on this little thing?

Maybe my XR200 manual covers it. I think all AR's are pretty much the same...

None of my XR / XL manuals cover that displacement, but I'm sure we'll dig up whatever specs you need. As you say, your XR manual should cover most of it, particularly due to the large wheel size.
