I don't know if I would be that trusting of the wheel bearings and brakes on a bicycle like that.
20mph maybe. Not 53. |
I think maybe I'd want a helmet with a little more padding to it as well... Lol!
Kudos on the ingenuity though, I never thought a bicycle would take that much power :) |
Dude, you just built a motorcycle with a weak frame and inadequate wheels and brakes.
|
Why would that young man take an engine out of a nice dirt bike, and install it on a bicycle!? 8O
I fear for that young man's safety. :( His brakes and suspension are inadequate, and the engine will likely destroy the rear wheel very quickly, perhaps at the worst possible moment. :? Spud :( |
Kind of like a 1900's bike. Cool but not a good idea.
|
Well, I'm flirting with similar ideas, though I prefer the approach of FX Cycles and Motopeds for example:
http://www.fxbikes.com/ http://www.motopeds.com/ Probably it won't turn into anything meaningful, but I'd like to try out. |
I like the motopeds idea. Use an already in preduction motorcycle frame and then parts designed for a motorcycle or heavy duty bicycle use.
|
In our Province, we could build a 50cc bike (like the two that Krasi linked to, but without pedals), equip it with lights, horn and battery and have it inspected. It would then qualify as a scooter, if it had a CVT (rather than gears).
