Engine help please!
I took the front head of my bike to clean, clean cam and adjust valves. Now my bike sounds like this. :hmm: Did i break it?

Can anyone help? Is timing off?

It sounds like there is either a vacuum leak somewhere, or a breather hose is unplugged. Do you feel any inordinate puffs of air anywhere? Also, you put a new exhaust gasket on it, yes?

I think its my intake. One of the top bolt that hold on the intake pipe was recently retapped. I sprayed carb starter on the spot and the RPM jumped up.
Can i use some high temp silicone to seal it? |
You'll need to replace those parts. Silicone getting into the engine will be bad.
|
Ok then, If it is confirmed the leak is do to the retapped intake bolt on the Cylinder Head. The only way is to replace the Cylinder Head Assembly?
and if so how do you measure valves to determine head size? 52.4mm or 54mm cylinder head |

Yes, if it's the same and for the same diameter cylinder. The valve size should be the same if it matches the cylinder size. You may need to measure your cylinder's inside bore to be sure.

It’s probably not leaking because of the threads as long as they are solid ,it’s more than likely the intake is cracked ,or the gasket is not sealing properly

So i just put a little black high temp silicon around that bolt gap. Will see tomorrow. https://serving.photos.photobox.com/...3bebd2f401.jpg https://serving.photos.photobox.com/...513da8a543.jpg https://serving.photos.photobox.com/...56d123081f.jpg |
it Looks like there is a gap between the bolt head and the intake ,try a washer or two in there to take up that gap .Also ,you may try a thicker gasket or oring depending on what it has .

That looks like a 125cc engine found on Taotao products. Probably a 54x54 square bore. Is that a Taotao Hellcat?
|
Looks like your bolt is cross threaded. I would pull it and re- thread the hole to see if you can save it with out a heli-coil.
