After the rains
 

Here's a video of a small tour I took yesterday. Visiting towns Elvira and Villa Moll, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. Last week there was some heavy rains in this area and the road are showing it.

Nice. We had a lot of rain here, but I didn't really have a bunch of time for a dirty ride. Our mud tends to be more on the sandy and clumpy side, and not as deep usually.

Thanks. Those roads are very sandy too, when it's really muddy (black dirt or clay soil) it's almost impassable with this bike, you'd need a real dirt bike, light and with knobby tires for that.

Wow, looks a lot like the floodplains along the Mississippi River. Rode that stuff with Kenda K671 Cruisers. They come in 130/70-17 and 100/90-19 sizes, look like adventure tires, deep, blocky tread, 6 ply rated for load carrying. Mississippi bottom clay is slicker than snot when wet, hard as rocks when dry. No sand, just silt. Wished for TrakMaster IIs. They come in a 130/90-17 and a 100/90-19. Close enough. Also come in 100/100-18 if you still have the 18-inch front. Both are rear tread patterns but that works well for the heavier than normal dirt bike front weight balance. If you ever need knobbies, K760s can be highly recommended. I've had some wobble running rear tires this course on the front, might want to run K270s or the new Kenda Big Block style K784 if you'll see a good bit of high speed pavement.

Sqwert, thanks, great info on the tyre options. The area I rode on that video is uncommonly sandy. Usual terrain in the Pampas is a lot clay. So I know first hand about slippery mud and hard bumpy dry roads.
I was about to reply that saddly none of those tyres can be found here in Argentina, but a search in some Marketplace sites shows me now the Kendas K784 are available here. I have a 19 inch front and the 130/80/17 + 100/90/19 seems like a great, and affordable, combination. When I wear out the Rinaldis I probably would go with those.
