reverse problem
 

Working on my grandkids 125 four wheeler. When I put it in reverse, the trans grinds and slips. Any adjustments for this? Forward is fine.

If i'm not mistaken I think the shifter is connected directly to the shift shaft and does not have any kind of linkage that can be adjusted. Is the shifter hitting the frame anywhere not allowing to fully engage in reverse?
