Is it OK to brag here?

So in the donga/aroyo just below where we live, there's this stock trail out of the canyon. I've looked at it several times when I've been riding, and thought it was just too steep for me. Just before supper tonight, I went and had another look and gave it a try.

It starts out with an S turn near the bottom then gets quite a bit steeper towards the top.

I chickened out and stalled just before the steep part.

That's most of the way around the S curve. It get's steeper in front of the bike.

Managed to back down and gave it another try--all the way to the top this time! That felt good! I also can see that I'm getting a bit better at riding.

Niiice I tried a couple decent hill climbs with my Brozz. I have a nice crash on my YouTube channel. Not anything serious but it's funny. I noticed after riding on trails and off road my riding skills have improved tremendously. That same hill climb I fell on I made it all the way to the top. That thing is mountain too! It's fun pushing the bikes and yourself to the limit.

Nice, and I'm glad you made a second attempt. I will say starting out in the woods/trails will 100% make you a better rider. I've seen it firsthand riding with Jay. He started out on street bikes and until a little over a year ago had never been offroad. It's been a learning experience for him in the woods and learning to climb hills. I've seen him lay the bike down countless times and flip it on a few hills, but he's getting better.

I on the other hand can ride a wheelie on anything, including an underpowered Hawk, and can do donuts in the snow on a street bike for 15 minutes without putting my feet down. Now as far as bad accidents I've had the lion's share but that's because I lack common sense and love pushing the envelope. Jay on the other hand has had only one (hit a deer at night and spent a year with his leg in a cast) and that's because he's cautious to a fault.

My last ride on the Hawk I did a wheelie through our little town and a Chevy truck pulled out in front of me so I had to jump the curb at an angle. I didn't go down but that was enough nonsense for me. I took the bike home and never rode it again. A couple months later I sold the Hawk and bought the old fart trike that doesn't do wheelies or break the speed limit. Same for the woods, I haven't ridden the race quad for a long time and instead bought a big 4x4 that slowly lumbers along like a tank. Maybe I've just gotten old.. or smarter.. IDK :lmao:
