License plate cracking
Has anyone else experienced their license plate cracking? Mine just started right around one of the bolts and I'm going to have to see if epoxy will help at all. I was thinking of putting a couple of rubber washers underneath the plate to cut down on the vibration, but wanted to ask you guys here in case someone has a better idea/insight.

Happens all the time on bikes that vibrate. I cut a piece of 1/8" Lexan the same size as the plate and bolt it to the back of the plate with 4 bolts. Sheet metal will also work.

Mine had cracked on my Ghost 250.

Yea I heard it was fairly common in buzzy dual sports. I guess really anything that dampens the amount of vibration could work, I just don't want to deal with the DMV again requesting a new one.

wide flat washers can also stop it. Duct tape on the back, washer on the front should definitely stop it (easy fix)

Alright I figured it out, my original plastic plate cover cracked awhile ago, so I bought a silicone one that the plate snugs itself into. The silicone is about 1/8th" thick, so when I tightened it down, the holes were being pushed further back than the rest of the plate. I just put a few layers of duct tape on the back of the plate, cut two little rubber washers to size to fit the discrepancy, and should be good to go!

Have any of you told your friends that your china bike is so powerful it broke the licence plate ?

Not yet, but I will. The sheer force of the massive G's I'm pulling just tries to rip the entire structure apart like a drag car. |
