Inexpensive, Quality Wheel Bearing Vendor

If you are looking for a great deal on quality wheel bearings for your motorcycle, look no farther! :D While searching the internet I found the following website:

http://www.bearingresource.com/

My Zongshen Sierra 200GY-2 uses two 6201-2RS bearings in the front wheel. The rear wheel of my motorcycle uses two 6302-2RS bearings, and one 6202-2RS bearing. I found several vendors selling inexpensive, generic, deep groove bearings. However, I wanted to use quality bearings in my motorcycle. I found those quality bearings at Bearing Resource and Machine, Inc.

The 6302-2RS bearings I ordered are manufactured by SKF, one of the most respected names in the industry.

My price was $1.33 per bearing (the current price is $1.40 per bearing).

The 6202-2RS bearings I ordered are the EZO brand manufactured by Sapporo Precision Bearing. This is another respected, Japanese manufacturer.

My price was $1.30 per bearing.

The Bearing Resource website lists fairly high shipping charges. However, I suggest you contact this company by email, or give them a telephone call at 1-866-323-9966. They will gladly ship your bearings by UPS ground for a very reasonable charge. They are also very knowledgeable, and happy to answer your questions. I ordered eight SKF 6302-2RS bearings for $10.64, and eleven EZO 6202-2RS bearings for $14.30. The UPS ground shipping charge was $6.82. I placed my order on March 26, and the package was delivered on April 1. I highly recommend this vendor. :)

P.S. As an added bonus, I received a pleasant surprise when I opened my package. Included free with my order was a very nice T-shirt.

I have nothing else to add; the T-shirt says it all! ;)

When I converted to a Yamaha XT225 swingarm on my Zongshen motorcycle, I bought several used, Yamaha XT225 rear wheels on eBay. As soon as the Yamaha wheels arrived, I replaced all the wheel bearings in them. ;) Therefore, I needed to place another order with Bearing Resource & Machine, Inc.

http://www.bearingresource.com/6200-...36.html?page=2

My Yamaha XT225 rear wheel employs three 6202-2RS wheel bearings, and my Zongshen front wheel employs two 6201-2RS wheel bearings. I knew from experience that I could get a discount on shipping, and also receive expert advice on bearing selection, if I called by telephone to place my order. :D Therefore, after checking the prices listed on their website, I made a telephone call to Trey at Bearing Resource & Machine, Inc. (1-866-323-9966.).

After conferring with Trey I decided to order ten EZO 6201-2RS wheel bearings for my front wheels, at $1.25 per bearing. :D These bearings are manufactured by Sapporo Precision Bearing, a respected, Japanese manufacturer. :)

At the website I also found bearings for my rear wheel listed at $1.30 per bearing, but they were an unknown Chinese brand. Therefore, after conferring with Trey I decided to order ten SKF 6202-2RS wheel bearings. SKF is perhaps the most respected name in the industry; I paid $4.00 apiece for these bearings. :D

As with my last order, Trey quoted a very reasonable, reduced shipping charge; he is also sending me a large T-shirt (see the photograph above). ;) Bearing Resource & Machine, Inc. offers excellent prices, and excellent customer service; I highly recommend this vendor! :D

Thanks Spud. Good tip.

I think this should be included in with the Tech sticky.

You're welcome, John. :) This thread is currently included in the Zongshen Sierra 200GY-2 Modifications & Maintenance sticky located at the top of this forum. The link to this particular thread is located under the Zongshen 200GY-2 Parts subheading within that sticky. :)

Do your bearings fig snugly against the front axle bolt? I ordered a set of 6201-2RS bearings for the front of my sierra. However now I'm noting they fit loose against the axle. The 6201-2RS has an i.d. of .472in, however my axle bolt measures .447in which leaves quite a bit of play.

Do I just have an axle bolt that is out of spec? (it definitely is now that it's bent).

Your axle must be too small. :( My axle is 12mm in diameter, and the 6201-2RS bearings fit my front wheel perfectly. ;)

That's what I suspected. I've got to replace it anyway so I'll keep an eye on that. Thanks.
