Good questions guys. He hasn't pulled the engine apart yet and gave me very little information other than it stoped running and wouldn't start again and was making weird noises. I'll report back...

So I think my buddy blew the engine while riding at full throttle on the freeway.

Is there a kit to rebuild the top end, or what parts to buy individually? The cheaper the better for him.

I just got the DMV post card to renew my plates. $156 to renew? That's crazy! It costs $30 less to renew a 2006 Honda Civic and $71 for a 70's Ford pickup. Is this just Utah or is this ridiculous...

Yep, that's how my buddy did it, even though I think it looks wonkey. I used the metal ties that came in the crate with black coating and twisted them tight with pliers.

I'm mostly okay. No broken bones, lost some blood due to a puncture wound on my leg. Sore as heck. I was wearing a helmet like many suggested (thank you). Now to get some shin guards.
