I am actually over complicating things. I am using an aftermarket odometer and speedometer that has been calibrated to match my GPS and seems very accurate. I don't take the bike into town to fill up...

I'm weigh 280lbs and get 36mpg out of the Hawk. It's running great, not rich and I'm running a Mikuni VM26 clone and no CAT.

I'm going off the specs where I read that you have 3.23 gallons before...

The Hawks seat was killing my 280lb butt. The Coleman pad just didn't look like much extra padding so I went with this inflatable cushion. Wow! Greatest Hawk mod to date.

Mine wobbles around as well. I believe they all do. I've seen a video on YouTube of a guy putting shims behind it but I assume it's like that for a reason. I'm interested in what others have to say...
