If you get an NGK, make sure that you need the extended reach before you buy the DPR8EA. and unless you are bringing a radio to listen to while riding, you could probably pass on the resistor as well.

Given what you have just said, it's time to get into the CVT. Make sure your drive belt is setup correctly (as far out on the big one and as far in on the little one).

The CVT tranny is not that hard to figure out. There is a lot of good info over at 49ccscoot.com on them... don't let the URL fool ya, they do more than the 49cc scooters.

DO NOT take HWY 90 along the beach in Mississippi though, that is one of the most dangerous stretches of highway in the US. (although quite scenic during the summer)

You may have a valve in the hose on the gas cap...

You may have a valve in the hose on the gas cap that is malfunctioning, you can try removing it and just run the hose for a bit... see if that helps.

It looks to me as if the part on the left in the picture might replace the silver grab rail on the hawk. Which would then provide the mounting points for the rack.
