An adjustable wrench also works good for the filter cap if you don't have a socket big enough for it, Just be careful about scraping inside of the frame with the handle if you care about the paint....

I just measured mine for you, unfortunately it looks like the welded bracket is a little different, the bolts are about 3 and 1/8th inches center to center and the peg sits a little over 5 inches...
