Maybe some sort of positive crankcase ventilation valve? PCV for short
. Basically a one way valve so that crankcase gasses can be expelled but it wont suck air back in when there's a vacumn. I'm just guessing though, kind of what it looks like to me, hopefully someone that knows for sure will post a reply.
