Besides changing to a DC-CDI unit, you would also have to change you wiring harness.
For example, you would need to feed 12V+ to the DC-CDI unit. Also, you would need to change the wiring for your kill switch, et cetera. The kill switch grounds the output from an AC-CDI unit, while the kill switch removes the 12V+ input to a DC-CDI unit.
I think you will have much less work if you get a replacement stator which will support your current, AC-CDI unit, regulator/rectifier, and wiring harness.
