That's about your only plausible option. I drilled a new rear sprocket for midlifekrisis' wife's quad, but I wouldn't recommend it. We had to go that route for her quad, since the rear sprocket was worn right out.

The front sprocket isn't really a countershaft sprocket, since it actually mounts where the rear wheel would be on a scooter. If you remove your existing front sprocket, you can compare it with what's available online.
