On the question I raised about luggage weight limits, let me clarify I was not suggesting the RX-3 can't be loaded down. (Great pics, by the way) I was just noting we don't have specs for the luggage itself.
I was considering a Honda CB500X. Great bike from the reviews. Then I looked at the specs for the Givi rear top case mounting brackets. Givi says the rear mount is limited to 6 kg, or about 13 pounds. Take off three or four pounds for the case itself, and you're down to about 10 pounds "official" max load for the top case. Of course Givi is probably being legally conservative. But the spec did make me wonder if the CB500X lacked beef in the rear subframe mounting points.
In any case, I am really happy I held off on the CB since I think the RX-3 will be a lot more fun and work better for me, regardless of price. And I appreciated Katflap's comments that the rear case mounts look solid.
