The cable originally was inside hanging vertically, but I put it outside so you can see it better.

Bend it down.... it's the tag sticking out beside the word "UP"

Pete is correct on both points.
You can route the breather hose straight down just about any place where it will not be pinched. However, if you look at the frame near the back, left side of the engine, you will see a metal circle. You can route the breather hose through that circle, and it will be protected.
The tab on my clutch lever was
also left unbent at the factory.
