I modified the stock work lights so I could mount them to the engine guards with 3/4", split-ring pipe hangers, which I bought at Lowes.

I removed the vertical mounting bolts from the work lights, and enlarged the holes to accept 3/8" bolts to accommodate the pipe hangers. I mounted each work light to a pipe hanger with a 1" long, 3/8" bolt, two 5/16" washers, a 3/8" locking washer, and a 3/8" nut, as shown below.
I adjusted the work lights for vertical and horizontal alignment, and tightened all the hardware. After wrapping 8 turns of electrical tape to the engine guard, I mounted one of the work lights to the right side of the bike. I then test rode the installation for several hundred miles while I awaited the arrival of some two-wire plugs.
