The CG motor has to do with the pushrod design (as opposed to OHC with a chain) for longevity and utter lack of any maintenance that most of these see around the globe. They were built to be durable with good torque, not necessarily powerful. When the counterbalance was added, I'm not sure...........

That said, I've had 4 CG motors now, all non-counterbalanced. I'm looking forward to the TT250 to see if there's any discernable difference.
