Installed a GPS

I broke the 'Good Idea Cut-Off Point" rule...Don't make any mods to the bike just prior to a trip. Tomorrow I launch for a short trip to the HU meeting in Virginia. Today I mounted a GPS. What could possibly go wrong...

Lots of folks like RAM mounts, I hate them. Thus I'm stuck making my own. I start out with some scrap aluminum and fab up some 10mm spacers:These allow me to mount a plate above the handlebar mount:

Then I need a bracket for the GPS. I have had terrible luck in guessing the exact angle to mount the GPS so I can read it under way so this time I'm making it adjustable for angle.
I also mount anti-vibration pads (3mmX15 from www.quadrocopter.com) because I have had problems with high frequency vibration killing the electrical contacts between the mount and the GPS.

with it all bolted up there is still room for the ignition key.

Now to see if this rig survives real world use, wish me luck!
