Those collet type bearing removal tools are mainly for pulling the race out of a 'blind' hole, one that you cannot get to from the other side. They rely on getting a good grip with that little lip you see in the example. I have a set for the swingarm bearings on my Stelvio because there is no other way to get the darn race out. The collet type would not be my first choice for a normal wheel bearing.
