Also, I am not having a problem finding neutral. In fact I found it a couple times when accelerating and shifting from 1st to 2nd.

Thanks for posting the arrival photos.
I occasionally get a small pop from the exhaust during deceleration. These backfires should diminish after engine break-in.
Shift more forcefully from 1st to 2nd gear, and the problem will disappear. This scenario can happen with many motorcycle transmissions.
