The 7 pounds is for a grade 8.8 nut (SAE Grade 5) and the 10 pounds is for a grade 10.9 (SAE Grade 8). I'm not sure on the grade of the RX3's valve lash adjuster, but I use 8.5 ft/lbs (102 in/lbs) as a middle ground on mine without issue. Also, I let the bike sit a day after a valve adjustment, to let the nuts "set" so to speak. Probably not necessary, but something that I do on my bikes.

I doubt if anything on the RX3 is Grade 8...
I have a digital 1/4" torque wrench....can't see any possible way to use it to tighten the valve adjustment nuts and still hold the screw in place with a screwdriver.
Do you have a photo showing how to do this?
